Spring Wedding Guest Makeup Looks https://liveglam.com/spring-wedding-guest-makeup-looks/ https://liveglam.com/spring-wedding-guest-makeup-looks/#respond Mon, 24 Apr 2023 04:57:35 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043454868 If you’re of a certain age and stage, you’ve likely got a few wedding invitations on your fridge for upcoming nuptials of friends and fam. Spring and Summer = wedding season, meaning outfit hunting, hair wrangling, and buckets of long-wear setting spray.

If you’ve got a wedding on the horizon (as a guest!), here are a few Spring wedding guest makeup looks that won’t upstage the bride/s…much.

A touch of glitter

Hey, no-one says you can’t bring a little sparkle to a wedding! As long as you’re not full-on covered in body glitter then it’s okay. This look is fun, romantic, and will get you in the mood for bubbles and dancing.

  • Complete a fresh base you feel comfortable with according to your skin type. I’d go for a satin finish with spot-concealing for an even base.
  • Cover the lids with a skin-matching cream eyeshadow that won’t budge.
  • Buff a bronzer, taupe shadow, or your go-to neutral crease shadow into the crease and into the lower lash line.
  • Use a liquid or gel liner to line the upper lashes with a semi-thick line ending in a gentle wing
  • Take a glitter liner in a pinky-gold shade like the It’s The Glitter For Me glitter liner and draw it over the black liner you’ve just applied.
  • Flush the cheeks with pink blush and a little gold highlight.
  • Any lip would work for this but a pinky balm would be stunning and low-maintenance throughout the day/night!

Golden bronzed-peach glow

If you just want to look fresh and healthy and luscious in photos, I’d go with a gold, bronzey, peachy look. This look is easy, flattering, and beginner friendly.

  • As above, complete a fresh base you feel comfortable with according to your skin type. I’d go for a glowy finish with spot-concealing for an even base.
  • Cover the lids with a skin-matching cream eyeshadow that won’t budge.
  • Use a big fluffy brush to buff your go-to bronzer across the nose, through and under the cheekbones, through the hairline, along the jawline, and a little through the crease of the eye and lower lash lines.
  • Take My Bou-Quet from the He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not palette and buff all over the lid with a shadow brush.
  • Tap Golden Hour from the same palette into the center of the lid and into the inner corner.
  • Add mascara and/or lashes. I like this look without liner but you do you!
  • Buff a peachy blush onto the cheeks and up toward the temple, finishing with a high-shine gold highlight on the high points of the face.
  • Finish with a peachy-gold gloss such as my OG fave Salsa

A pop of lavender

You can absolutely utilize color when getting ready as a wedding guest, why not? It doesn’t need to pull focus, especially if you use it sparingly like this pretty lavender pop look.

  • As always, complete a fresh base you feel comfortable with according to your skin type. I’d go for a semi-mate finish with spot-concealing for an even base.
  • Cover the lids with a skin-matching cream eyeshadow that won’t budge.
  • Use a small shadow brush to deposit Designer Drip from the Boujee Palette into the inner half of the lid and inner corner.
  • Take a bronzer or taupe shadow and buff through the crease for depth and add mascara. Eyes are done!
  • Flush the cheeks with a soft pink or mauve blush.
  • You could opt for a subtle pink balm on the lips or go all-out with a mauve-pink matt such as Mood

Fresh pink all-over flush

If you want to lean into the romance of the day and an easy makeup look with minimal commitment, an all-over pink flush is ideal. This look is universally flattering and a joy to apply, even a few proseccos deep.

  • As above, complete a fresh base you feel comfortable with according to your skin type. I’d go for a semi-matte finish with spot-concealing for an even base.
  • Cover the lids with a skin-matching cream eyeshadow that won’t budge.
  • Buff Setting from the Boujee Palette all over the lid and through the crease with a fluffy eyeshadow brush.
  • Leave the lower lash line clean for a more modern look.
  • Press a little brown or charcoal kohl liner into the upper lash line for definition and apply plenty of mascara and a few individual falsies.
  • Take a fresh pink blush like my favorite RMS ReDimension Hydra Blush in Pink Rose and buff onto the cheeks, into the temples, and a little over the nose and hairline for an ethereal look.
  • Finish with a little silvery highlight and a soft pink gloss or balm such as the Total BALMshell in Lickable

Easy Bright Spring Makeup Looks To Try https://liveglam.com/easy-bright-spring-makeup-looks-to-try/ https://liveglam.com/easy-bright-spring-makeup-looks-to-try/#respond Fri, 07 Apr 2023 05:01:06 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043446269 It might sound cliche, but Spring truly is a time of renewal, hope, and freshness. The winter is retreating and we can see warmer days, Summer fashion, and the end of Netflix-and-hibernation on the horizon.

Get yourself in the mood for the loveliest seasons with these easy bright Spring makeup looks!

Bright pink lips

One of the easiest ways to update your look for a new season is by simply picking a new lipstick shade. My go-to color for Spring/Summer is a bold pink like the OTT Love Stone lippie. A color like this says fun, fresh, excitement! It’s a great way to incorporate color in a feminine, playful way.

Pair with gently bronzed skin and bare eyes with nothing but mascara.

Tangerine eyes

Tangerine is such a brilliant color to incorporate into your Spring makeup routine, especially if you have blue or green eyes. For this look, I buff Amber from the You’re a Gem palette all over the lid and simply top with Palm Springs from the Eyechella Festival palette for a touch of sparkle. Repeat the colors along the lower lash line for more of a pop.

Pair with a balmy lip, peachy cheeks and a gold highlight.

Bold pink blush and mint eyes

Pink blush is my best friend at the moment. I apply it high on the cheeks and it just gives me such a young, alive, flattering glow. To make things a little more interesting for Spring, I’ve been pairing my flushed rosy blush with mint green eyeshadow and the combo is delightful. I use the knockout shade Jade from the You’re a Gem palette all over the mobile lid with a little bronzer in the crease. I add a thin black liquid line with a slight wing and plenty of mascara.

Our favorite blush at the moment is the RMS ReDimension Hydra Blush in Pink Rose ($35) which I buff into the high cheeks and toward the temple.

Pair with a soft pinky balm or clear gloss such as the Dandelion clear lip gloss

Purple and green party eyes

Party time! Get those French 75s poured and go bold with a regal purple and green look using the Scorpio palette. It’s easier than it sounds! Simply pack a purple shimmer shadow such as Sensual into the inner corner, a green shadow such as Wild or Secretive into the outer half, and repeat on the lower lash line. Buff a neutral taupe or bronze into the crease to add warmth and soften the edges of the green and purple. Add falsies and a simple nude glossy lip!

Easy New Year’s Eve Makeup That You Will Love https://liveglam.com/easy-new-years-eve-makeup-that-you-will-love/ https://liveglam.com/easy-new-years-eve-makeup-that-you-will-love/#respond Mon, 26 Dec 2022 05:59:27 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043407033 Are you having an anti-NYE year? We kind of are. It’s been a big, stressful year and we just want to chill and watch movies and be kind of a New Year’s grinch. However, we know we will be convinced to head out and spend the night with friends and participate. Yeah yeah, it’ll be fun once we get there! But let us have my grumpy moment, alright!

If you’re feeling the same, we’ve got you. This is our reluctant girl’s New Year’s Eve (or any party, really) makeup for when you can’t be F’d. The look is rebellious, dark, sexy, and with a smudgy defiance.

The look: smudged smokey eyes, lit cheeks, and glossy lips. Deliberately slept-in and carefree, yet super flattering and sexy.

The base

We want a flawless yet natural base with this makeup, not a foundation mask! We want to see the skin…but skin that looks suspiciously filtered.

Prep your skin with a light exfoliation, hydrating serum, and moisturizer. Apply a tinted moisturizer or sheer foundation (or full coverage foundation “sheered-out” with facial oil) over the entire face. Go in with a concealer and small brush and pinpoint any blemishes, discoloration, and dark circles for an even, glowy base.

The cheeks

Take a bronzer on a fluffy brush and use sweeping motions to add warmth and structure through the hairline, under the cheekbones, the jawline, and across the nose.

Take a fresh blush in a pinky shade and buff lightly into the apples of the cheeks and up toward the temples.

Buff a little champagne or gold highlight onto the tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, and the brow bone. Make sure you give it an extra blend with your fingers so it melts seamlessly into the skin.

The eyes

Add a concealer or eyeshadow base to the whole lid and press out any creases. Buff a mid-toned shade like Hohoho from the You Better Swatch Out palette through the crease and the lower lash line. Now take a deeper shade such as Chestnuts and buff into the outer V and lower lash line.

Now take a darker, more black-based shade such as Mistletoe and buff through the crease, lower lashes, and over the lid with a fluffy brush. Take a clean brush and blend, blend, blend the edges until smooth and even. Take a paler shimmer shade like Nice and press onto the very center of the lid with your ring finger.

Take a black kohl liner and press into the upper lashes and smudge out with a stubby brush. Repeat on the lower lashes for a super smokey look.

Add a luscious mascara like the Pretty Feathered mascara

The lips

You’ve already agreed to drag yourself out of the house for the night, ya not going to commit to a high-maintenance lip as well! Nope. Gloss it is, and really, what more do you need? A lush glossy lip will add dimension, a sexy plumping effect, and won’t compete with your sultry eyes.

We love the Purrr-Fect gloss for a hint of red, or the divine Sweet Rose lip oil if you’re struggling with dry lips.

Easy Fall Makeup For Work To Evening https://liveglam.com/easy-fall-makeup-for-work-to-evening/ https://liveglam.com/easy-fall-makeup-for-work-to-evening/#respond Fri, 11 Nov 2022 23:42:46 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043390161 The colors are changing, the sweaters are emerging from storage, and we’re thinking of how to switch up our makeup for the new season. Here’s an easy fall makeup look you can take from work to dinner with only a few finesses for after dark.

To pack in your mini makeup bag for the day

  • Concealer and small concealer brush
  • Blush and blush brush
  • Creamy highlight
  • Translucent powder
  • Q-tips and a mini bottle of makeup remover
  • Mascara
  • Lipstick

The base

If your skin gets more dry once Fall starts, make sure you choose a richer moisturizer and/or a foundation or base with extra hydration. Look for hyaluronic acid and glycerin on the ingredients list for plumping, moisture-locking benefits.

  • Complete your Fall-ready skincare routine
  • Apply a light layer of foundation, BB cream, or tinted moisturizer, whichever makes you most comfortable
  • Use a skin-matching concealer to erase under-eye circles, redness, and discoloration

For evening: add a little extra concealer where it may have worn off during the day, then dust with a little translucent powder to set.

The cheeks

  • A terracotta, berry, or apricot blush is so pretty all year but especially in Fall.
  • Cream blushes are great for easy application without the need of a brush.
  • Take it over the apples of the cheeks toward the temples and dust the excess over the nose and through the hairline for cohesiveness.

For evening: add a little highlighter on the tops of the cheeks, nose bridge, and brow bone before heading out.

The eyes

I like to keep the eyes minimal during the day for this look so when you jazz them up before going out, the difference makes an impact.

  • Lay a long-wearing cream shadow all over the lid. I like one that matches my skin tone and evens out any discoloration or texture.
  • Take a chocolate colored eyeliner pencil and draw very closely along the upper lashes and gently smudge with a brush.
  • Add mascara.

For evening:

  • Add depth and warmth to the crease by either buffing your blush into the crease (if it’s not too red-toned).
  • Or, take a creamy eyeshadow pencil and place it through the crease and into the lower lashes, blending with your finger or a synthetic brush.
  • Take your highlighter and use your ring finger to press onto the inner corners and center of the lid.
  • Add a little more mascara to the tips of the lashes.

The lips

Energize your way through the day with a creamy, flattering lipstick to offset your simple eye look and create a focal point for the face. My favorite daily Fall lip shades are the stunning nude Smooches (a creamy pencil formula, too!), MLBB deep coral shade Adios Beaches, and true red Wild Cherry.

For evening:

If eating and drinking is on the cards, I actually like to take the lip color down and add texture with gloss. Gloss wears off neatly and you don’t need to worry about patchy lips after an oily snack. Before you head out, take a Q-tip soaked with makeup remover and take off your lip color, giving the lips a little exfoliating scrub action at the same time.

My favorite evening gloss is Chamoy because it gives a sweet and juicy red tint.

Best Nail Polish And Makeup Combos For Fall https://liveglam.com/best-nail-polish-and-makeup-combos-for-fall/ https://liveglam.com/best-nail-polish-and-makeup-combos-for-fall/#respond Fri, 11 Nov 2022 23:38:04 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043390152 In our opinion, matchy-matchy nails and makeup is subtly chic and downright impressive, I mean, attention to detail much?! Fall is a great season to bring some cohesiveness to your nails and makeup by picking fun, sultry shades to tie together.

Here are the best nail polish and makeup combos for Fall.

Pumpkin orange nails and lips

Orange is probably the most obvious choice, but for good reason! Orange is a flattering shade for so many skin tones and brings warmth to those chilly days.

Nail pick: Essie ‘Any-Fin Goes’

Lip pick: Let’s Make Out

Burgundy nails, lips, and eyes

Is it just me or is burgundy a little rejected these days? I may be wrong but I haven’t seen a lot of burgundy color matching going on of late and we should remedy that. Burgundy is stunning on most skin tones from translucently pale to deep dark.

Nail pick: Essie ‘Bordeaux’

Lip pick: Tacos 4 Life

Eye pick: Glamazing from the Glammer palette

Forest green nails and eyes

If you’re over warm tones for the moment and want something a little more editorial, green is your friend. Green eyeshadow looks especially stunning on brown eyes and flatters most skin tones (a theme in this blog it seems!).

Nail pick: OPI ‘Things I’ve Seen in Aber-Green’

Eye pick: Fresh Cut from the He Loves Me He Loves Me Not palette

Deep pink nails and blush

I am a real fan of rich pink in Fall and Winter as it is not only flattering but it’s cheerful against those dreary days.

Nail pick: Telenovela Me About It

Lip pick: Mykonos Mood

Budget Halloween Looks Using What You’ve Already Got https://liveglam.com/budget-halloween-looks-using-what-youve-already-got/ https://liveglam.com/budget-halloween-looks-using-what-youve-already-got/#respond Mon, 24 Oct 2022 06:57:32 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043382445 Halloween doesn’t need to be a bank breaker. I mean, chances are you’re going to be eating and drinking the night away and forgetting about your costume within the first hour. Once the initial photos are taken, the makeup has done its job, so keep it cheap! You can create amazing, artful Halloween looks using what you’ve got in your makeup collection.

In the words of the influencers, today we are shopping our stash to create quick, easy, and affordable Halloween makeup looks.

Spiderwebs

This look is great because you can apply your favorite evening look that you feel your best in, then simply finesse it with some glittery webs.

  • Apply your favorite makeup! Preferably keep the lips and eyes quite neutral in tone so they don’t compete too much with the webs.
  • Take a black liquid liner and draw a series of intercrossing lines across the eye and through the temple to the hairline. You should end up with a simple star-like shape.
  • Now draw curved lines between your straight lines to create the web.
  • Sharpen the points of the web using a Q-tip with makeup remover to remove any smudges.
  • Embellish the web with teeny diamantes and lash glue, or simply use a glitter liner such as the silver Glammed liner

Open wound

This one is great for getting a little creative and seeing how realistic you can get. However, if it ends up a little, ugh, abstract? Who cares! It’s Halloween, just own it. This is a great look for just adding onto your daily makeup if you’re going out straight after work and don’t have time to re-do your whole face.

  • Take a browny red shade that is a few shades deeper than your skin tone and buff it into a rough oval shape where you’d like your wound to be. Blend out the edges with your finger. Aim for a nasty, red-toned bruise.
  • You can add a little blue around the edges and blend in thoroughly to deepen the bruise.
  • Use a black liquid liner to draw a line or “cut” down the middle of the bruise.
  • Take a deep, blood-red liquid lippie and dab it around the edges of the black line, aiming for some gloopy raised bits!
  • Add a few flecks of black liquid liner to act as dried blood.
  • Done!

Stitches

This one is almost shamefully easy, all you need is a black liner. This one is for when you actually forgot you were going out for Halloween or if you’ve been dragged out to a party with 5 minutes notice.

  • Do your go-to makeup that makes you feel great on a night out, no spookiness required.
  • Take a long-wear black eyeliner pencil (very sharp) or liquid liner and draw a line from the corner of your lip to your cheekbone. You could also try one vertically down your eye and onto the cheek, or anywhere! Draw little lines across your main line to create the stitch effect.
  • If you want to make it a little fancier you could add a few little dabs of red lip liner or liquid lippie to create a bloody effect.

Best Halloween Makeup When You Still Want To Look Glam https://liveglam.com/best-halloween-makeup-when-you-still-want-to-look-glam/ https://liveglam.com/best-halloween-makeup-when-you-still-want-to-look-glam/#respond Mon, 24 Oct 2022 06:52:57 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043382438 Confession time…I’m super lazy when it comes to dressing up for Halloween. If I’m getting my a** out the door to go to a party, chances are I want to take that opportunity to look good, like, glam good not spooky good.

For all you lazy Halloween gals and guys out there who want to throw on some black clothes and claim you’re a witch, here’s the perfect Halloween makeup to match.

The look: deep, dark, sultry, sexy eyes and deep lips. If there’s any time to ditch the “eyes or lips” rule it’s Halloween.

The base

We want a flawless, full coverage base for this look, a smooth canvas that can support those bold eyes and lips.

Apply your go-to skincare and primer, if you use it. Buff a medium or full coverage foundation into the skin, starting from the center of the face and moving outward.

Dot your concealer under the eyes, around the edges of the nose, on the chin, and wherever you have redness or blemishes. Pat in with a sponge or your ring finger.

Take a translucent powder on a small fluffy brush and dust it over the areas you concealed and where you tend to get shiny.

Tip: if you don’t have a full-coverage foundation (or any foundation), use your concealer to create a flawless base by placing it wherever you can see any redness or discoloration and buff until seamless.

The cheeks

Take a cool bronzer or contouring product and lightly dust under the cheekbones, through the hairline, down the sides of the nose, and under the jawline. Buff in with a brush until seamless. Blend a little neutral, pink, or berry onto the apples of the cheeks and finish with a creamy highlight on the cheekbones, nose ridge, and brow bone.

The eyes

For this look, I’m using Confessions of a Nudist and Investiglam palettes to create an easy smokey eye.

  • Cover the lids in an eyeshadow primer or non-oily concealer.
  • Buff a mid-toned brown like B-Day Suit (or one that suits your skin tone) over the entire lid.
  • Buff a deep brown (like Silhouette) into the crease and through the upper and lower lash lines. Buff it through the outer V in a slightly winged shape.
  • Take a black shade like Secret Baegent (from Investiglam) on a small shadow brush and buff it over where you applied the deep brown, building it up along the lash lines
  • Tap a silvery or gold shimmer into the inner corners
  • Add a some fierce falsies like the So Ka-Ute style

The lips

Let’s keep this simple by using a long-wearing liquid lippie to last all night. We’re going for a dark blood red and Cuddle Me is the perfect one (despite the very non-scary name).

However, that’s not all.

We’re going to intensify the lips by using a darker pencil to create an almost ombre effect. Take a deep shade like Pudding and line the lips with it, focusing on the outer corners. Fill in the lips with your red lippie and blend the two shades together with a lip brush.

Easy Summer Date Night Makeup Ideas https://liveglam.com/easy-summer-date-night-makeup-ideas/ https://liveglam.com/easy-summer-date-night-makeup-ideas/#respond Wed, 10 Aug 2022 23:05:07 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043351292 A date night on a warm, breezy summer evening, what could be better? You’re feeling excited yet relaxed, you want to look amazing but don’t want to spend a long time on your look. You want to look fresh and cute but natural and fresh too. Got it!

Here’s an easy Summer date night makeup anyone can whip up in ten minutes or so.

Base

Let’s aim for a glowy base that evens out your skin tone and smooths the pores while remaining natural and fresh.

Cleanse and moisturize as usual. If you have a tinted moisturizer or BB/CC cream, apply that to the face. If you’re a foundation gal, apply a few dots to the face then buff it in with a brush or sponge, blending it out to a sheer finish. You could also add a few drops of foundation to your moisturizer to create a tint.

Take your usual concealer and use a tiny brush to spot-conceal any redness, blemishes, or discoloration.

If you struggle with oil or shine, you can do one of two things. You can use a little translucent powder on your shiny areas. Or, you can just embrace that we’re in Summer and things are going to get glowy!

Our go-to foundation

Our go-to skin tint

Cheeks

In my opinion, the cheeks are the real hero of the fresh Summer look. Flushed, glowy cheeks sculpt the face and bring that fresh glow we love.

Take a bronzer on a big, fluffy brush and buff through the cheekbones, through the hairline, across the nose, and along the jaw. Now take a sanity blush in your go-to shade (fresh pink, berry, coral, orange, or red) and buff onto the apples of the cheeks in an upward motion toward the temples.

Brush the excess on the brush over the nose and through the hairline. It’ll be barely detectable but the extra color just ties things together. Stand back and add a little more to the cheeks if needed.

Take a creamy highlight with a glowy-not-glittery finish and dab onto the tops of the cheeks, down the bridge of the nose (avoid the tip!), and over the cupid’s bow. Use a clean finger to buff it into the skin to avoid any skip marks around the edges.

Eyes

Let’s keep this as simple as possible. Take a fluffy brush and load it with a shimmery shade just a little lighter than your skin tone. This could be pale pearl, champagne, gold, bronze, or deep tan. Buff it over the entire lid.

Now take your bronzer on that same fluffy brush and buff into the crease and along the lower lash lines. Take a black or brown pencil and press into the upper lash line.

Add plenty of mascara. Done.

Lips

Let’s not be coy here, chances are high that there’s going to be some making out. For that reason, you’re going to want a lip that’s soft, wears-off nicely, and won’t give too much transfer.

A soft liner (I love Cake Pop!) topped with Shnooks or a lip oil (like Dreamy Sky) will plump and soften the lips, is easy to reapply without a mirror, and will wear off na- turally.
